"Cesc Fabregas can't even get in the team and is a great parallel - a creative midfielder, capable of pinging passes where nobody else sees an option, he doesn't do enough defensively to work in an exposed two man midfield. Kante and Matic are a unit. Box-to-box midfielders, both defensively minded and disciplined enough to know when to stay and when to go.

Conte has not found a place for Fabregas in midfield, or moved his exciting forward players into wide positions to accommodate him because this system does not need a tidy attacking midfield player. It needs disciplined, intense and dynamic central players to allow the rest of the team to work around."
