I don't care he's going to United
The end
Short read Part One
In fairness nor do I, other than the fact that I think it makes us look daft.
That said, the distraction of JM vs Pep has shades of Wenger vs Ferguson when Jose was first here, so hopefully Conte is useful and has a similar impact with the bunch of clowns he's inheriting.
That's a very good point.
Agreed.
I'd rather he was going abroad but it is what it is.
I'm far more concerned with the circus at our club though.
Same old circus. Different ringmaster.
I'd rather he wasn't but I don't really care, at this stage I'm more concerned that Klopp, Pep and Jose will sort things out much faster than our comedy routine. Big summer.
Like most I only care as to what impact it will have on us. He tends to hit the ground running wherever he goes so that is not great news for us, but as other have said the whole Pep-Jose thing could leave us out of the spotlight which may be useful.
Damaged my respect for him, as it did with Cech going to Arsenal.
How about Frank to City?
I think once you get sacked by a club/owner twice, you don't owe that club/owner anything!
I'd like to think Frank just got caught up the City/NYC connection. I never saw him as leaving us for City.
Ditto, although I don't see Jose leaving us for Utd either
I don't really get annoyed wherever they go. I completely understood what Cech did and why. If they lie it's different, like when (and this is one for older viewers) Durie said he was homesick and then signed for Tottenham.
I'm not annoyed with Jose or Cech. Jose finished Cech's career at SB and so he moved on after a season of playing second fiddle. I understand. I just feel they either lack the understanding of joining a rival club in England or they fly in the face of it. I can't worship Cech in a Gooner shirt anymore but I could have had it been Real he went to. I can't want success for Jose as I did when at Real because he now wears the crest of Man United.
I truly hope Jose's career is in absolute tatters come next summer...and I wish the same for Cech. I cheer when Cech fcuks up these days.
I don't wish them any success either, I just can't work up the energy to be annoyed. I really still don't get why people think Cech should have uprooted his whole family without needing to just because some blokes don't like the team he's joining. Yes he is well off, but if his wife and kids are happy why mess them about when you have a perfectly good option that means they can all stay where they are. And we have all seen the pictures of him commuting on the train to get to Arsenal's training ground, so he wasn't lying to us. People were saying he should have moved to France and stuff like that.
As a family man I would not mess the wife and kids about on the say so of total strangers. yes, it does stain his Chelsea legacy, no doubt, but he felt that was a price worth paying, it's his decision, what other people have done or may do in the future has nothing to do with it, others might have said to the Mrs. "Sorry love, Arsenal is not an option", it's an individuals decision.
I do look at him now and don't feel the fondness I feel for someone like Frank, or Zola or many others who weren't even anywhere as good as him, but, he made his decision, I can't see it will bother him much.
Nobody forced him to go anywhere. If he'd have stayed, that wouldn't have messed up anything for anyone...
I'm convinced he would have been our number one this season after Courtois' injuries & suspensions, along with his awful form.
It still wouldn't have happened had Roman not decided to show a soppy side, he is the one (as usual) to blame for that.
Hindsight is great, but when he left he had lost his place in the team and Courtois had looked brilliant at Atletico and it very much seemed like it was the best decision for everyone, even Begovic who got a decent move as a backup.
Not for me it wasn't! I said at the time, it was one of the worst transfers the club's ever been involved with.
To be fair to JT, he could have gone to China and probably earned three times what he will next season, and would be the main man over there whereas he's far from assured a starting position under Conte. If Cech felt anywhere near about the club as he supposedly does, he'd have stayed as per his contract and fought for his place regardless - surely a player should have belief in their ability? And that decision would have bore fruit within a couple of months.
I'm not going to disagree with you, but what can you do? He obviously didn't feel that way about the club, and as I said, I don't look at him the same way as I do other former players, he has tarnished his legacy, no doubt. JT could have gone to China and not one of us would have begrudged him the move, Cech will never have that place in our hearts, it is the downside of his move, understanding and accepting the situation doesn't mean I liked it.
I hear ya, I understand and accept it also but wish it was never allowed to happen.
Yep, the club could have made him see out that year, and whilst Jose has to shoulder the blame for a few things, one thing he was clear about was that he didn't want this transfer to happen.
Bravo
I think I always knew he would go there one day...to manage the biggest club in England and all that. I also think this will be his last club job before he steps into International management.
Yep, we've had plenty of time to get used to it!
I make you right, would love it if he managed England one day
