I am not his biggest fan, but I feel in the situation we're in that this would be a positive move:

I'd give him a go.

Lukaku

Now Jose has gone???

Lukaku
by Famous, 24/05, 14:52 @ ejm

This is the other problem with Roman's trigger happy finger, he was happy to let good players go under Jose because he knew it was what the manager wanted but if we were only going to go & get rid of Jose anyway then we might as well have kept the likes of Lukaku, De Bruyne and Mata.

Lukaku
by riazorblue, 24/05, 14:57 @ Famous

Mata must be overjoyed at the moment. he's not in the Spain squad and now Jose is going to United.

Lukaku
by Famous, 24/05, 15:26 @ riazorblue

I'm surprised he's been at Utd as long as he has actually, I thought he'd have been back in Spain by now.
If Conte is a fan, I reckon we might be able to get him back for £5m or so :-D

Lukaku

We can't worry about Jose anymore. As UTC says, f'ck him, i hope it all goes horribly wrong for him.

Given the ridiculous amount of money they wanted for Stones, I dread to think what they will want for this bloke. Appreciate he was young and raw but he couldn't trap a bag of cement in a Chelsea shirt on the limited times I saw him and he looked nervous.

Lukaku
by Famous, 24/05, 15:25 @ cfcww

Agreed plus he cost Everton the FA Cup Semi and his last goals were the gifts our defence gave him back in early March, which has to be a worry! But given we're not in the CL and our other striking options this season have included the likes of Pato & Falcao, I'm not sure beggars can be choosers

Lukaku
by cfcww, 24/05, 15:35 @ Famous

not that I won't put it past the jokers that are supposed to run the club, its not move I see happening. If it, it will highlight even more the complete lack of direction we have.

Lukaku
by Famous, 24/05, 16:14 @ cfcww

As I say, moving some of the players on that we sold made sense in the context of a Mourinho-led squad but now we've not got him or the players, it's twice as bad!

Lukaku
by cfcww, 24/05, 16:23 @ Famous

I've worked in a few companies over the years that were managed on similar lines to us at the moment ......... none of them are in existence anymore.

Might as well send in your cv then mate. You've got the experience!

Lukaku
by riazorblue, 24/05, 15:46 @ cfcww

To be fair you could be describing Drogba in his first season.

Lukaku
by cfcww, 24/05, 16:04 @ riazorblue

That's a bit of a myth I think. 16 Goals in 40 appearances in his first season was a decent enough start given he missed a few months through injury. A look at the end of season DVD will show he was constantly involved in our build up play plus an integral part of our set piece defending. Appreciate Drogba was older but his talent was evident on the training ground, I remember JT saying he did unbelievable things in training.

It was the opposite for Lukaku and there were various comment coming out about poor his technique was.

Clueless

Lukaku
by upthechels @, 24/05, 16:06 @ cfcww

I never had an issue with his sale but I must say his all round game has improved.

I'm not sure he's what we need - he never seems to be happy whether playing or not.

Lukaku
by cfcww, 24/05, 16:28 @ upthechels

Neither did I B, I thought it was a good bit of business at the time as he was never going to be the standard which we needed at the time. Our standards have dropped considerably since then, but buying him back would be a short term negative step for a ridiculous amount of money.

Lukaku
by orseshit_n_amburgers, 24/05, 16:39 @ upthechels

I reckon more stroppy Belgians is just what we need! Maybe a bid for balotelli as well.

I don't know if it's his dad, agent or him but whoever it is they like to do a lot of yapping in the media.

Well it's not as if he didn't get a good run of games when he was here last time.

Oh, hang on.

Lukaku
by Walter @, 25/05, 00:05 @ Famous

Not for me to be honest.

Play Traore / Solanke / Tammy.

Lukaku
by Oh-Dennis-Wise, 25/05, 06:49 @ Walter

Heard he grew up a massive Chelsea fan, absolutely idolising Drogba.

He's come on as a player since leaving imo and hopefully has matured mentally.

I'd have him back - he's proven he can score in the Premier League and still has bags of potential.

Better than getting someone like Falcao in!

Lukaku
by Famous, 25/05, 07:08 @ Walter

We could do a lot worse than Costa, Lukaku, Traore and one of Solanke/Abraham.
We could do a lot better as well, admittedly!
