Why, all of the sudden, are players turning us down?

Conte runs a strict regime and is a proven winner, expectations are higher. They are buying into a dream at Liverpool and Spuds whereas with us the mentality is different. Barkley for example I believe couldn't hack that. As posted yesterday I am more bothered about letting Chalobah and RLC go. Also, why would you loan Abraham to Swansea for a year, freeing them up to sell their main striker to a rival?
Again in response to that post.... who is making the decisions?

Two English players with limited talent and ambition turned us down. I think it says more about them and their self belief than us tbh honest, C.

Llorente...I think the media linked us with him more than it was us being seriously interested. I'm not aware of any offer from Chelsea going in. Spurs had a late sniff, signed him up and now it's reported as Spurs beat us to his signature...not buying into that at all. More the case of Llorente waiting for Chelsea interest and when that never came he took on plan b.

We've attracted and signed some fine talent...internationals no less. We can attract players that are fighters...we fail when targets are weak minded and are scared to come in the kitchen with us.

From what I can gather, Chamberlain didn't want to leave Arsenal only to go somewhere he'd only end up playing wing back again. Liverpool could guarantee him a start in his favoured midfield position every week. With his injury record and so-far unfulfilled potential, him joining was always going to be a gamble anyway.

As for Barkley, rumours are that he failed the medical but we would still look to take him either in Jan or next summer, so not confirming that he failed the medical would be to our benefit. I actually hope he doesn't end up here to be honest, I'm not sure he's up to it.

The fact we can still attract genuine top class international players like Bakayoko and Morata is the main thing. I just don't get why we went for players without knowing that they wanted to come here first, we've had months to find that out.
