Just a load of pointless possession.

Then Willian misses an open goal... just terrible.

Don’t get me started on Willian...

Not a chance. Doesn’t do it often enough.

I cant watch at the moment, its so dull. Pass back, pass sideways and pass the other sideways but sometimes not that positive... [wink]

Jorginho has made 2000 passes this season, with no assists.
Our defenders are next on the list of passes made.
“Sarriball” you can shove it.
Bores the pants off of me.
The one creative midfielder we had, we’ve now allowed to leave.
Teams we should be beating comfortably are finding it so easy to play against us, and often look more dangerous going forward than we do.
Sarriball didn’t win anything in Italy, and most certainly won’t in this country.

It is a disgrace how it’s January and he’s not even won us the Champions League yet, SARRI OUT!

Even our managers who won things got slagged off regularly, you spent all last season moaning about Conte who’s almost the exact opposite of Sarri

Jorginho
by OSGOODWASGOOD, 14/01, 16:14 @ Famous

I’m sure Shed doesn’t mind me giving my opinion, as it raises food for thought, and gets a reaction, either for, or in your case, every time, against.
Can’t remember the last time you even started a thread.

Jorginho
by Famous, 14/01, 17:44 @ OSGOODWASGOOD

I don’t recall ever saying I minded you giving your opinion myself, nor do I necessarily always disagree with it when you do, so not sure what you’re getting at there? I’d have thought you’re not fussed about me expressing mine either.

The point I was making is, if winning everything before the trophies are even dished out and playing brilliantly whilst comfortably winning every game is the only thing that’s ever going to make you happy with the manager and the players, then you’re going to be spending an awful lot of time moaning because the expectations are very unrealistic.

Jorginho

All I want is a manager who is adaptable to the opponents, before the game, and also in play game management. Keep making like for like substitutions, when it is clear the tactics are not working, is wrong.
Keep using Hazard as a centre forward, is clearly wrong.
Keep playing Alonso, is wrong.

I never wanted Sarri, in the first place, and made that clear, pointing out he has never won anything. For that I blame the club for employing him.
Nothing he has done so far, changes my mind.

Jorginho
by Famous, 14/01, 20:19 @ OSGOODWASGOOD

Clearly wrong in your opinion, but as I say your opinions in the past have included complaining about managers who HAVE won trophies, so it does seem like they just can’t win, even when they do.
Before the game on Saturday, your opinion was that the manager had to go because he picked two players who actually ended up winning us the game...

Jorginho
by OSGOODWASGOOD, 14/01, 20:29 @ Famous

You think I am the only Chelsea fan who has these opinions?

Jorginho
by Famous, 14/01, 20:35 @ OSGOODWASGOOD

No, when I said ‘Even our managers who won things got slagged off regularly’, I was referring to lots of fans.
Just because lots of people have the same opinion, doesn’t make an alternative opinion “clearly wrong”

Jorginho
by OSGOODWASGOOD, 15/01, 09:17 @ Famous

My opinion, above, that you first responded to, was in regards to “Sarriball”.
What exactly is your opinion of it?

And in response to Conte, he lost my support, along with many other Chelsea fans, when he sent the team out not to beat Man City at home. That was indefensible, as far as I was concerned. That is when I no longer wanted him in charge of the team.

After watching his Napoli team fairly regularly, what we’re seeing at the moment is not how I saw them play. I took a shine to them long before he was ever linked with us so I wasn’t watching them for any other reason other than I enjoyed it. The exciting and effective Napoli side he created didn’t just happen overnight, the same way it took time for Pep’s methods to sink in and work at City (for example). I think people are watching us at the moment and equating this with so-called ‘Sarriball’ (a term others coined in his honour), which I think is unfair on Sarri because what we’re seeing currently is only how the players we have are executing it and not exactly what he would want. Poor/flawed execution can make any plan look worse. Even having said that, I still don’t actually think it’s half as bad as a lot of people seem to be saying - something as simple just having a proper, on-form centre forward (ie not Morata) who scores goals (ie not Giroud), would change the whole outlook. I think the Spurs league game is the only match where we haven’t had more and better chances than our opponents.

It is possible that system won’t work in this League the way it did so well in Italy but am positive that with time/personnel changes, it should come, provided the club gives him those things. It was always going to take time to completely change the way we play and even longer to perfect it, so to judge him only a few months in (with very little chance to work on it pre-season) seems harsh to me. We knew we weren’t going to be getting a pragmatist who was only ever going to be about short-term impact, and the club clearly doesn’t want to keep bouncing around from manager to manager every season anymore, otherwise they’d never have gone for a head coach like Sarri.
In the meantime, we’re only one point off a Spurs team who are years ahead of us in terms of building with their manager/squad, six points off last season’s runaway champions (who, like the leaders and Spurs, are also years ahead of us in terms of building with their manager/squad) and also six points clear of 5th place where we ended up last season, still in all the Cup competitions we started in too, so as transition periods go we’re still on course to achieve what I think the expectations were/should have been at the start of the season.

I must admit this is where I'm at too. I'm very willing to give Sarri at very least 2 transfer windows - I can see he has plenty to sort out as it stands but I have faith this man is geared to the job in hand and appears to be very dedicated. I may not always agree with him with his player selections or his tactics but we're still in all the cups and 6 points ahead of 5th spot so the bigger picture suggests it's really not going so badly for his first 6 months in charge.
