He’s just not learning. This one is all on him. To play the same lineup that struggled to create, struggled at set pieces and had nothing up front against a rank average Newcastle team and expect anything different against a half decent team is criminal. The team that finished would have won that game.

[^] Also to be outfought by that namby pamby mob is unacceptable. Not got the heart for it most of this lot.

We're finishing 7th / 8th.

Hazard leaves.

Pray god Willian goes first [pray]

I don't have a problem with Will or Pedro being dropped or leaving the club. But there's no-one to currently take their place that are better, (CHO should be getting more than ten mins), and no signings seemingly being sanctioned by the board.

Marina basically taking over Emenalo’s duties since he left is calamitous, that’s on Roman IMHO.
You know it’s bad when you’re missing Emenalo! :-D DFS

Kante and hazard, our only 2 world class players.... played out of position and made to look average by sarri today.

Sarri
by Walter @, 19/01, 20:51 @ CLL_JT26

Both those players would walk into any team in the world in their natural positions, but of course Sarri knows better.

Sarri
by Famous, 19/01, 23:46 @ Walter

Would they finish fifth like they both did last year?

Sarri
by Walter @, 20/01, 14:49 @ Famous

Is finishing fifth or fifteenth relevant to the point though? That they'd walk into any other team in the world.

Sarri
by Famous, 20/01, 15:49 @ Walter

I think it is because for Sarri to throw away what he’s spent his coaching career trying to do, and what he’s seemingly been brought in to do, to instead suddenly play a system designed around two players (one of whom has been flirting with another club for most of his spell here and has downed tools for other bosses) would be madness and has no guarantee of success

:-D Hope he doesn’t burn down the tree with all those fags [doob]

I reckon he is about to lose a lot of the dressing room.
Where does he expect at least two goals to come from next Thursday, playing that way?

Sarri
by OSGOODWASGOOD, 19/01, 20:52 @ OSGOODWASGOOD

Oops...

Sarri fumed: "I am extremely angry. This defeat was due to our mentality... and this is something I can’t accept.

"It would appear this group of players are extremely difficult to motivate."

Sarri
by Famous, 20/01, 00:42 @ OSGOODWASGOOD

Maybe it’s about time the dressing room fcked off and we get a group who won’t rely on their manager taking the blame for their consistent shortcomings?

Sarri
by Famous, 19/01, 23:44 @ nstand

If only there was some way we could have known what we’d have got when we’d employed him
Like watching any match he’s managed over the past few years...

Overall I am just finding it boring compared to previous squads. All seems to be lacking some emotion.

Sarri
by Famous, 20/01, 07:42 @ Droy263

Which is never something that could have been levelled at his Napoli team.

I just think there’s a bigger picture here which is being missed and by doing so, we’re not being rational in our criticism of managers/head coaches

Sarri
by OSGOODWASGOOD, 20/01, 08:50 @ Famous

His Napoli team won nothing, but played some nice football in a much slower paced league, wow.
Napoli still play the same way without him.
Why did he take the job here?

Sarri
by Famous, 20/01, 09:14 @ OSGOODWASGOOD

There’s two arguments there. If we’re talking directly about how boring it is at the moment, which I’m not denying it is, then I think bringing up the fact many neutrals considered his Napoli side the most entertaining in Europe and one of the most entertaining Italian teams they’ve ever seen is a fair point to make.

“Napoli still play the same way without him”
Assuming that’s true (which I don’t think it is) how is that a slight on Sarri? It’d be quite the opposite.
