Rumours gathering more and more momentum.

Thoughts?

Would you rather sarri, Lampard or allegri in charge next season?

If we have the transfer ban get him in to work with the young players. I want my club to feel like my club again. He is loved up here in Derby.

I wanted a JT/Lampard combo last season and I still want them. I don't give a toss about turning on a legend if things fall apart- that's football where emotions run high and low, where the only loyalty belongs to the supporters of a club.

Sarri has no chance at SB, hated by too many so best he goes asap. Not how I hoped it would end but it's how I expected it to end.

I know as much about Allegri as he knows about managing in the PL. Not for me.

John Hollins.. [cr] when a legend returns..

:-D

I always feel some legends deserve a chance but if it fails then so be it. JT and Frank love our club so at least we would see 100% effort to succeed...not that I think Sarri has been anything less than 100%.

I dont think we'll see a Lamps/JT combo as JT I feel will try and be no1 soon rather than a no2.

When fans turned on the rafa situation, Roman brought back Jose. I feel he may be doing similar here with Sarri/Lampard.

Lampard would get the feel good factor back, the club pulling together again, the use of youth players, possibly getting CHO to stay and building a team around him/RLC etc, the full backing from supporters and if any manager can last more than 12 months to give us stability, the one thing we've always lacked under Roman, its him. I know we've been successful with the approach in the past but now Roman doesn't spend like he used to and we've seen the "old guard" all finish, I feel we are in a bit of a transitional period at the moment where a long term plan is needed to build a new successful team, especially with hazard on the way out.

Frank might well be the man to do it, good luck to him if he does, it doesn't change anything he ever did for the club as a player if it doesn't work out, imagine him getting the bridge bouncing like the derby fans. Could be a master stroke from Roman if it comes off, but I feel it might be a bit soon and that we'd be better off with allegri now, then Frank after him.

Frank is above his years, I'd trust him100% to do a great job for us (at his age/experience) over 2/3 seasons. He's one VERY smart man. Add JT to the dressing room/training ground and we're on the move again - the foundation is solid.

Sarri hasn't been allowed a 'settling in' period so I do hear the doubts re patience and time for Frank/JT to bed in.

I give Allegri one season and the needle returns to the start of the song.

Allegri would be my preferred choice.
I’d still have Sarri over Frank, at this stage. Lampard and co. are still learning

[^] same on allegri. Not sarri though.

Aswell as Lampard, Morris, Cech, possibly even JT/Drogba may have roles at the club next year.

The transfer situation is the spanner in the works really.

I think given Sarri’s achieved what he was tasked with at the start of the season, to then sack him and replace him with Frank who’s had one season at a lower level, would be madness, at this stage. But if Allegri is free and willing, then I think he’d tick many boxes.

I like the idea of Chelsea people in roles behind the scenes, I’ve heard rumours of Cech and Ballack coming back next season.
Lampard/Morris/JT hopefully to return in senior football management/coaching roles, once they’ve learned and made their mistakes elsewhere, maybe in 2-3 years time

JT sits and learns the ropes without being judged on results too much so I'm happy with his positioning. Frank is there to be shot down so if it all belly flops on him then he may not get the Chelsea chance - that's a big concern for me.

I think Frank has to earn the role if he’s going to have a fair crack at actually succeeding at it; he’s made a positive start so far, though I’d argue Sarri’s done a better job this season.
