No doubt mate, ultimately it always has to come from the individual but then if somebody's ill then it affects their ability to help themselves. Not suggesting the club are at fault for any of this or anything but the more support somebody going through what he is has, the better.
I think it's hard to judge when we don't know individual situations. Having had treatment at the Priory myself I came across lots of different people from all sorts of backgrounds, with their own various demons, who all deal with things differently and someone can change from hour to hour, day to day, year to year. With these things I don't there's ever a stage where someone can say they're 100% better. I'm sure in his lucid moments, he'll realise how stupid he's been but guilt is also one of the worst triggers so it can become a vicious cycle.
