Zouma has the technical ability of a drunken Bambi, Christensen hasn't pushed on as expected and Kepa inhabits his own little world some of the time.
Frank is still learning his trade so is working it out as he goes along. That said, glad the ban has been lifted.
We need an CB who can get them organised and lead them on the pitch. Whether a good enough one will be available in January is another matter, I won't even pretend that these days I follow the game to the extent that I even know who would fit the bill. I tend to just watch our games and maybe the odd one if there is not much else on the telly.
Hopefully rudiger can get back in soon and stay fit, I think he will help us a lot.
January the best option is probably ake - he might not be ideal, but hes got to be an upgrade on Christensen and Zouma at the moment. I'm not sure either of those are going to be good enough in the long term if we want to get back to winning leagues. Disappointing and surprising how downhill Christensen has gone since playing in the back 3.
Even though we have plenty of money to spend in the summer, there arent many top CBs around, plus competition for one will be fierce - the likes of city & arsenal will both prioritise a big CB signing I'd imagine. Madrid and Barca have Ramos and pique coming to the end of their careers and united and liverpool might look for upgrades on lindelof and matip.
A lot of talk about koulibaly on twitter, I don't see us signing him. Hes nearly 29 I think and would be huge money. We tend to go for someone younger. Therefore, I hope we are looking at the likes of Skriniar at inter, romagnoli at ac Milan and maybe umtiti from barca who's out of favour. But cant think of many options.
Hopefully we get it right. A top CB and chilwell would be ideal for the defence.
